Bristol Brabazon
 

I was young at the time and never thought too much about this huge ungainly craft traveling about 500 Ft and 2 miles or so offshore. Even then It was obvious that it was struggling to maintain even this slight altitude! Did anyone else see her? I saw her from the coast at Minis Bay near Birchington in kent. I think it was her maiden flight. Hailed at the time of being a great success. Lots of info on the net.
