Not the first time that this has been done, though it might be a UK first.

The Super Connie at Luqa Airport is featured in this article. She was impounded in 1968 after gunrunners used her for smuggling. She was converted to being a restaurant in 1974 and was destroyed in an arson attack in 1997...
http://www.conniesurvivors.com/5T-TAF.htm I saw her a few times in the late 70's & early 80's when on Malta for holidays etc. Really sad that she was set alight, at least some of her was rescued though for the museum, just a pity that she has gone. |
